Breaking: Astropad Launches Workbench for AI Agent Remote Management
Astropad today released Workbench, a remote desktop app designed specifically for controlling AI agents remotely, and is giving away a Mac mini to boost adoption. The app allows users to monitor and manage local agentic AI systems from an iPhone or iPad, eliminating the need to stay at a desk.
Workbench leverages Astropad’s proprietary LIQUID engine, previously used in Luna Display and Astropad Studio, to provide full desktop access with low latency. Users can check logs, restart tasks, or reconnect to long-running jobs from anywhere.
“Workbench transforms a Mac mini into a personal AI server you can pocket-remote,” said Astropad CEO Matt Ronge. “We built it so professionals can step away without losing control of their agents.”
Key Features and Availability
The app supports high-fidelity streaming, voice dictation, and multiple input methods including gestures, keyboard, mouse, and Apple Pencil. A mini-map helps navigate large desktops, while a global relay network across 11 regions eliminates network configuration.
End-to-end encryption ensures data privacy, with no display recordings saved. Workbench is free for 20 minutes daily, with unlimited access at $10 per month or $50 per year.
Workbench requires macOS 15, iPadOS 26, and iOS 26, and performs best on Apple silicon Macs. Intel Macs have limited support.

Astropad is known for turning iPads into drawing tablets (Astropad Studio) and secondary displays (Luna Display). Workbench extends this concept to AI control, marking a strategic pivot as local agentic AI platforms like OpenClaw gain traction.
