ACEMAGIC Unveils High-Performance F5A AI 470 Mini PC with AMD's Latest Ryzen AI Processor
ACEMAGIC has launched the F5A AI 470, a compact desktop computer that marks a significant spec upgrade over its predecessor. The system is built around AMD's new Ryzen AI HX 470 processor, delivering enhanced AI capabilities and multi-threaded performance. This model retains the versatile connectivity that made the original F5A popular, including dual USB4 ports and an OCuLink port for external PCIe 4.0 x4 devices.
The most notable hardware improvement is the inclusion of three M.2 SSD slots, supporting up to three separate drives. This storage configuration allows users to create fast RAID arrays or separate boot and data volumes without sacrificing space. ACEMAGIC claims the system can handle demanding workloads like 4K video editing and AI inference tasks.

The F5A AI 470 supports up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM via two SO-DIMM slots. The OCuLink port provides a direct PCIe 4.0 x4 lane to external graphics enclosures or storage arrays.

The original ACEMAGIC F5A launched in 2023 with an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS processor and two M.2 slots. That model received positive reviews for its build quality and port selection but was limited in AI processing power. The new AI 470 variant swaps the CPU for the Ryzen AI 300-series, which includes a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) capable of 16 TOPS.
This update subtly redesigns the chassis for improved thermal management, though external dimensions remain identical at 0.85 liters. The system now supports PCIe 4.0 for all storage slots, up from PCIe 3.0 on the older model.
What This Means
With the Ryzen AI HX 470, ACEMAGIC targets users who need a small-footprint workstation for AI-assisted workflows—such as content creators using Windows Studio Effects or developers testing local LLMs. The triple SSD support and OCuLink make it a compact file server or secondary production rig.
Competing mini PCs from ASUS and Minisforum offer similar storage expansion, but few include both USB4 and OCuLink at a comparable price point. The F5A AI 470 could become a go-to choice for tech enthusiasts who want to externalize GPU costs while keeping the core system tiny.
